Dear Cougar Family,

The end of the 1st semester is fast approaching. It is imperative that you have a conversation with your student(s) about finishing the semester on a positive note. Reiterate to your child(ren) the importance of adhering to our schoolwide expectations: Be Prompt, Be Prepared, Be Polite and Be Productive. School starts at 8:10. In order for your child(ren) to have time to eat school breakfast and report to class on time, please ensure that they arrive no later than 8:00 AM.

Schools will be closed on Election Day, 11/06/2018. Please VOTE! Normal school operations will resume on Wednesday, 11/07/2018. We will observe Thanksgiving Break November 19 – 23. Beginning November 7, we are conducting a Thanksgiving canned food drive. We are asking each student to donate 1 canned good. On November 15, you can join your child for our Thanksgiving luncheon. The parent cost for lunch is $3.50. Please check with your child for their designated lunch time.

This is Parent Engagement month and our Parent Liaison, Mrs. Turner-Love, will be hosting some parent engagement sessions on November 7th and 8th at the CCPS Professional Learning Center from 10:00 – 12:00, on both dates. Our students were given a Parent Engagement calendar to take home and share with you.
Parents, please continue to support our dress code policy by ensuring that your student(s) arrive to school every day within the uniform dress code. Occasionally, we allow students to wear jeans on Fridays to reward those students that are adhering to the dress code policy every day, but we still have too many students refusing to comply Monday through Thursday. Please listen out for phone calls and review our school web site for jean day announcements. Additionally, students are not allowed to wear slide-in shoes/sandals. All footwear must have a back on the shoe that covers or is attached to the heel.

Thanks for all you do in support of Lovejoy Middle School!
